    What is NHS?

National Honor Society is a national organization based on scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Members must show equal strength in all four areas. Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.500 or higher, after the first semester of their Sophomore or Junior year, are eligible to apply. Applications are then reviewed for strengths in the areas of leadership, service, and character by a faculty selection committee. Students who are not selected as Sophomores may reapply as Juniors, provided they still meet the GPA requirement. Students selected as Sophomores are members for their entire Junior and Senior years. Students will be notified of selection in the Spring, and the induction ceremony will follow. If selected, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.500 and complete 15 community service hours per semester. They must also remain free of any disciplinary actions.
