50 Years in Education, Alan Mollerskov

Dear Union Grove High School Community,

As I write this letter, I am overwhelmed with a mix of emotions. After 33 incredible years serving the district, the time has come for me to bid farewell. It has been an honor and privilege to work alongside all of you, and I am grateful for the trust and support you have shown me throughout my tenure.

As I reflect on my 50-year journey in education, I am filled with a deep sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Together, we have witnessed remarkable growth and transformation within our district. From the installation of a state-of-the-art synthetic football field and track, a decade ago, to the establishment of a magnificent performance center, our facilities have become a source of pride for our community.

We have also made significant strides in advancing our academic offerings. The addition of an agricultural sciences building has allowed us to provide students with invaluable hands-on learning experiences, preparing them for future success. Moreover, the adoption of the block schedule has revolutionized our educational approach, empowering our students to dig deeper into their studies and pursue their passions. We were the first school in Racine County to adopt the 4x4 block schedule, which we did in the 1997-98 school year.

None of these achievements would have been possible without the unwavering dedication and collaboration of our exceptional staff, parents, and students. Your commitment to excellence and your tireless efforts have been the driving force behind our district's success.

As I embark on this new chapter of my life, I look forward to cherishing precious moments with my wife and two sons. Retirement will provide me with the opportunity to check off items from my ever-growing to-do list and explore new interests and hobbies. Although I will no longer be leading the district, I will remain a staunch advocate for education and will continue to support the growth and development of our community's young minds.

Before I sign off, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Thank you for your unwavering support, trust, and collaboration throughout the years. It has been an honor to serve as your school superintendent, and I will forever cherish the memories and relationships forged during my time at Union Grove Union High School.

Please remember that the success of our district lies in your hands. Together, I am confident that you will continue to nurture and inspire the next generation of leaders, ensuring a bright future for our community.

With heartfelt appreciation and warmest regards,

Alan J. Mollerskov
