Art students sitting in front of art exhibit

When sipping your latte at "Just Brew It," you may find yourself captivated by the artwork gracing the walls. And for a good reason. The vibrant displays come straight from the talented hands of Union Grove High School's very own, Mehlia Michna and Teagan Johnson.

Both seniors this year, Mehlia and Teagan embarked on a journey through the intricate world of art in Mrs. Zangerle’s AP Art class last year. Their dedication and passion were evident in each stroke and color they meticulously laid down. Now, the community can witness and admire their brilliance at the beloved local coffee shop.

Just Brew It, not just an ordinary café, has its roots embedded within Union Grove High School’s history. The proud owners, Rebecca Forseth (Class of 2010) and Brittany Galbraith (Class of 2007), are both alumni of UGHS.  In a wonderful gesture of giving back, they've reserved wall space exclusively for a high school art exhibit.

Rebecca and Brittany's idea is not just to showcase the incredible talents that Union Grove High School nurtures, but also to inspire the younger generation. With the support of the Art Department staff, Just Brew It will refresh the artwork every couple of months, giving many more budding artists a platform to showcase their work.

The initiative is more than just an exhibit; it’s a testament to the enduring connection between Union Grove’s past and present. As current students have their talent nurtured and celebrated, they're also reminded of the legacy that previous students, like Rebecca and Brittany, have created – a legacy they too can be a part of.

If you’re in the mood for some exceptional art coupled with a delightful cup of coffee, make your way to Just Brew It. You'll not only witness the fusion of art and community but also feel the pulse of a legacy that’s very much alive and thriving.
