UGHS Achieves AP Pacesetter Award

Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction recognizes Union Grove High School for outstanding achievement in Advanced Placement exams.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, in partnership with the Wisconsin Advanced Placement Advisory Council, has proudly announced that Union Grove High School is among the distinguished schools receiving accolades for their high participation and achievement on Advanced Placement (AP) exams. This esteemed recognition is a part of the 2022 Advanced Placement Pacesetter Awards, highlighting student excellence throughout the state.

The Pacesetter Awards, unique to Wisconsin, are a testament to the dedication and commitment of students and educators striving for academic excellence. Based on data from the 2021-22 school year, the awards are presented at three different levels, reflecting AP student participation rates and the percentage of students earning a score of three or higher on the exams.

Union Grove High School proudly holds a level 3 award, which signifies that over 10% of its student body participated in at least one AP exam. Remarkably, 60% or more of these participating students attained scores of 3 or above. This distinction underscores the school's dedication to offering students enriching college-level coursework opportunities, paving the way for them to potentially earn college credits during their high school years.

AP courses present an opportunity for students to delve deep into rigorous academic challenges, setting them on the right path to meet the rigors of higher education. The Pacesetter Awards commend schools with robust AP course participation and a significant cohort of students achieving praiseworthy scores on their AP assessments.

Principal Joel Adamczyk highlighted the exceptional contributions of the staff, stating, "Receiving the Pacesetter Award is a testament to the dedication of our outstanding teachers. They go above and beyond on a daily basis to prepare our students."

As Union Grove High School stands among the select group of schools recognized for their outstanding achievements, this recognition serves as a testament to the quality of education and commitment to student excellence within the Union Grove community.
