Union Grove High School officially broke ground on its referendum projects on Tuesday, July 30, marking the start of construction to enhance safety, security, accessibility, and learning spaces.
Rain showers moved the start of the event indoors, where guests heard remarks from key project leaders, including:
Diane Skewes, UGHS School Board President
Tom Johnson, UGHS Superintendent
Steve Wicklund, Village of Union Grove President
Sean Cullen, JP Cullen
Doug Kunde, Plunkett Raysich Architects
After the rain let up, participants stepped outside for a ceremonial dirt-turning to officially mark the beginning of construction.
The celebration was made even sweeter with complimentary ice cream served by Community State Bank’s Cruiser, bringing smiles to attendees of all ages.
Union Grove High School extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, as well as to Broncos Media and Paul Vassalotti for photographing this special day.
