Union Grove High School’s theatre program has once again captured the community’s attention, selling out its entire run of the fall musical, Beetlejuice, five weeks before opening night. This marks only the second time in school history that a fall production has sold out completely.
UGHS has a strong tradition of excellence in the performing arts, having sold out its spring musicals for the past five consecutive years.
Senior Timmy Truchon, who plays the title character, shared his excitement:
“I feel so supported by our community for coming out to our shows, and I think it proves that what Union Grove theatre is producing is high-quality stuff!”
Senior Lillian Christensen, one of two stage managers for the production, added:
“The community being there for the performing arts in our school means everything to the students who are both onstage and offstage.”
Based on the Tim Burton classic, Beetlejuice brings all the movie’s iconic moments to life on stage in a PG-rated performance. The fall musical features 33 students performing on stage and 35 students working behind the scenes as part of the stage crew. Productions at Union Grove are directed by Rob Kroes and Kim Sandberg.
While Beetlejuice is sold out, tickets are now on sale for the remaining shows in the 2024–25 theatre season:
Once Upon a Mattress – March 6, 7, 13 & 14 (five performances)
Peter Pan: A Live Radio Play – April 17 & 18 (two performances)
