Broncos Media Wins Several State Awards!
On Saturday, February 25, 2023 UGHS Broncos Media were presented with several awards by the Wisconsin Association of Broadcasters at the annual WBA Student Seminar and Awards for Excellence in Madison, WI. at the Madison Marriott West Convention Center.
Ten of our Broncos Media members represented the UGHS community as they collaborated with other students from other high schools and colleges. They attended several seminars and workshops where they connected with many radio and television professionals to learn more about the variety of opportunities available in the radio and television industry. There was also a job fair where those attended had the opportunity to meet representatives from many media stations and groups within our state.
This event is sponsored annually by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association to recognize outstanding achievement by Wisconsin high school and college students for their work as radio and television broadcasters.
Our Group earned 7 of the 10 awards that were presented at the high school level and were judged from over 200 entries!

In all 20 students participated in the success of these projects and were represented by the 10 students who attended the Seminar & Awards Presentations.

GREASE is the fastest selling musical in school history! 🎭
UGHS will present GREASE on March 10, 11, 17, and 18. While the past two years have been sell-out productions for the school, GREASE makes school history by selling out 6 weeks prior to the production opening for the public. The musical boasts a cast and crew of over 70+ students. Additionally, staff members from the choir, band, science, and Tech Ed. departments have contributed their talents to the production. UGHS has a robust performing arts program that includes an extra-curricular fall play, spring musical, and spring cabaret. The extra curricular performances are led by Rob Kroes and Kim Sandberg with the help of Mitchell Brachmann and Zach Fell.
