The UGHS Performing Arts Department is back with a hilarious twist on a classic: Once Upon a Mattress: The Almost True Story of the Princess and the Pea!
In this high-spirited musical, Prince Dauntless (Carter Nuciforo) is desperate to find a bride. Queen Aggravain (Maisy Martone) is determined to reject every candidate and the kingdom is under a marriage lockdown until the “right” princess appears. Enter Princess Winnifred (Addison Lees): bold, hilarious, and nothing like the dainty royal they expected. When the Queen devises a secret test involving a tiny pea, “Fred” takes on the challenge with confidence, chaos, and a whole lot of charm. Our cast and crew of over 75 students brings this classic tale to life with modern humor, beautiful costumes, and outstanding singing and dance! Tickets are on sale now at ughs.ludus.com or in person Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm at the Highway 45 doors.

Even though it was chilly on Lake Vermilion, everyone showed up for the Big 6 Species Fishing Tournament! The goal of this event was to catch all major 6 species (Northern, Perch, Blue Gill, Bass, Crappie, and Walleye). We caught 5 of the 6 (didn't get a bass), but due to them adding up the largest in each category we are standing strong in 1st place overall.
Way to go UG Ice Fishing team! 🐟🎣

Thanks to Kathy Culshaw and the dedicated volunteers at the food bank, our Student Services pantry has been restocked with many essential food items. In addition, a $500 donation was provided to help purchase additional food and personal care items for students in need.
We also extend a heartfelt thank you to John “Skip” Kovach for his continued support of our pantry and for helping coordinate additional donations from Yorkville United Methodist Church. Kathy Culshaw and Skip Kovach both serve as directors for the Union Grove Area Food Bank, and their commitment to supporting our students is deeply appreciated.
